Hey guys! Yesterday myself and about 10 other drivers got onto Halo Reach for some old fashioned racing and boy was it great! I especially loved the supercross maps we played because we were actually able to have fun battles. Nowadays it seems the only time you get a pass on a supercross track is due to the driver in front wrecking. I happen to agree with Darkstar in the fact that this is probably because of the sudden spur of super realistic styled sx tracks. Now don't get me wrong, I really enjoy these maps, but the fact of the matter is you're going to get way more epic battles on a track like Motor Speedway SX from Season 3 than a track like Global SX. (Sorry Purps) Anyway, I just wanted to know you're guy's opinions on this and what you think we can do to make SX fun again!

wider tracks my man. wider turns mean more lines through them which makes options for line choice during battles tremendous. people don't need to make them WAY wider, but some extra would be nice throughout the track, especially since the division cap got bumped up to 10 instead of 8. in addition to wider tracks, tracks that have interesting obstacles are always cool, and i dont mean go put an enduro log on there, i just mean mix it up, instead of double double triple double, try adding some table tops, more big rollovers maybe some long rollers instead of whoops, moggles would be sick as well. mix it up with the sections a bit instead of just doubles and on offs(keep a few tho haha) then also something i think should be done with building tracks is people should try to keep safety in mind when building, i dont mean aactual safety or anything but like make the tracks so that mistakes arent as easily made cause like pooply dooply was fun, but if you were half an inch off on your line you could wreck and lose a lot of time. dont make the tracks mistake free and impossible to crash on however because a lot of times it makes it impossible to make up time on anyone. this is hard to explain and id imagine that it is difficult to create on purpose, but tracks with alot of line choice are great and often times i'm able to find some really quick lines around them that someone else may not know of, and vise versa. Im sure that i could think of some other stuff id like to see in tracks to promote better racing, but at the risk of writing a boring novel im gonna leave it at that:P

I like where REBEL is coming from. Most of you know I cant stand SX on Halo 4. But It was a lot of fun on Reach if you were on a consistent track. I want to hear more suggestions for the SX forgers out there for bringing back the fun in SX racing on Halo 4.

So instead of using a 4x4 block, maybe put together a couple of 3x3s and make it 6 wide? This probably wouldn't be difficult at all considering we have a duplication tool now. I'm going to attempt to make a track like this with multiple, consistent lines and see how it turns out!

I agree with this, SX maps are too realistic now and are becoming not fun. I think that forgers should just go back to the casual style of SX maps and stop trying to make them realistic. For example, there were only lines on split sections back on reach maps, and they were easy to navigate which made room for battles. I don't think there needs to be wider tracks, I just think that there need to be more casual maps; not too easy, not too hard. But still challenging like Audacity, Motor Speedway, and Blackwater.

I have made a casual supercross track that I designed last night. It's almost done, but there are no splits, no tight turns, no "You have to take it in a super secret certain way" type sections. It's just a simple map like Oceanview was, or even MadWorld, but a bit more Halo 4 themed Supercross!

I Agree with you PanCake I miss the old custom game lobbies we used to have on reach. They would go on for hours and everybody would stay and because of the action on the track. Like you said , you only pass if someone screwsup

as far as you only make passes when people wreck goes, i really don't think its the tracks fault on that one. that's just , in my mind anyway, the evolution of the competitors in sx. i mean when i first started racing sx in Season 2 winning was kind of a cakewalk for me because the only guys giving me a fight were XreignZ and simple eric and us 3 were the only guys that really would ever win or battle with each other, but now in the world of sx out of the 15ish active drivers 8-10 of them are pretty much identical in speed and with mongeese only able to do so much and us having similar lines, yea its harder and harder to pass. i mean between pancake, chaca, hero, jake, njd, racing, gaming, myself and on occasion a few others its just a toss up for who wins based on who gets the best start and screws up the least. at this point in the ORL's life i dont advise anyone to race supercross unless you've got some extreme faith in your halo racing abilities, because right now if there was a pro class that was racing for the big trophy and 1 million dollar prize it would be the sx riders. most of the guys in sx are just insanely fast and insanely competitive. and that isnt to say the gp guys or mt guys arent, but theres just not as many fast guys there. I'm not saying tracks arent becoming boring in sx and that they are fine, because they arent, the tracks are getting bland and boring, but some of the beef people are having with sx tracks is actually the fact that 5 of the 8 guys racing in the sx championship already have 1 or more titles and the only reason the other 3 dont is because they're rookies...

I just thought of another reason why it was probably much better in Reach: The speed of the mongooses...If you think about it, they were much slower on Reach and this probably makes for better battles. This is pretty much the same with lots of other games as well. Why are the battles on MX Sim so much better than on MX vs. ATV? Cause the game isn't as fast-paced...

.....um...you might be joking and I apologize for ranting if you are, but you obviously don't realize the practice that the top guys are putting in. I don't just start the race on Sunday, use qualifying as my practice, then see if I get lucky. Whoever gets the win is the one who put the most dedication in to study their lines and get them down consistently. So don't say you'll go in and show us all how it's done if you don't even know the practice and patience that we put in...

It truly does take alot of practice in order to win one of these races in the SX division. I don't think it's possible anymore to go into any race without at least 3 15 minute sessions, to at least get top 5, let alone top 3.

i don t know about you guys but i think the tracks on halo 4 are better because their more realistic but the gp aren t as fun because there is no throttle control personally i wish the sx tracks that are being made were on reach because the physics are better
